15 games, 28 goals and 89 unbeaten opponents: x-ray of Corinthians’ taboo against São Paulo | Corinthians

Sunday will be a regular at the Neo Química Arena. The official match for the Brazilian Championship, which will start at 16:00 (Brasília time), will be the 15th meeting between Corinthians and São Paulo at the Corinthians Stadium. For nine years, Timão has defended a major hurdle: there are ten wins and five draws against an opponent. And there is no failure.

It will be the first Majestic of the 2021 season in Itaquera. In Paulistão, Timão lost two matches to Morumbi: 1-0 in the qualifying round and 2-1 in the semi-finals. Now, however, coach Vítor Pereira finds his biggest persecutor again with matches inside the stadium, with the support of the crowd.

Many players and coaches went through both sides, and taboo remained. THE ge brings an x-ray of classics between Timão and Tricolor played Itaquera.

The Corinthians had seven coaches in the competition: Fábio Carille in six games, Tite in three other games, Vagner Mancini in two and Mano Menezes, Jair Ventura, Cristóvão Borges and Sylvinho in one game each. Vítor Pereira will be the eighth.

On the São Paulo side, there were ten coaches: Muricy Ramalho, Edgardo Bauza, Rogério Ceni, Diego Aguirre and Cuca with two classic players each, Milton Cruz, Fernando Diniz, Mancini and Crespo, with one game each. Juan Branda, an aide to Crespo, ordered a second because of the Covid-19 situation with the Argentine. Thus, Mancini was the only one to defend both sides. And Ceni returns to Itaquera.

In Corinth, 80 different players were used. Goalkeeper and captain Cássio were in 15 matches. Right-back Fagner played 14 matches. He was not in the only 3-2 win in 2017. They are two regular players in the Arena derby.

São Paulo recruited 89 athletes, with an emphasis on Rogério Ceni, who played as a goalkeeper and team coach. In fact, the relay in the tricolor goal attracts attention: there were six goalkeepers in 15 games: Dénis, Ceni, Renan Ribeiro, Sidão, Jean and Tiago Volpi. Now, it will be Jandrei’s turn.
