Only the highest quality 100% Mohair is used in the custom braided pieces. It is important, when braiding, to maintain an even tension and tight braid around the waxed core, this creates a quality braided rope with a super soft and supple feel. Each foot of braid takes approximately 1 hr to complete. Add in prep time and finishing time a 22’ mecate takes anywhere from 23-27 hrs to build. Now braiding 1/2” diameter pieces @ $14/ foot of braid, and 5/8” diameter pieces @ $16/ foot of braid. Mecates are standard 22’ in length. For custom length please message. They include a leather popper and mohair tassel. Add a horsehair tassel for extra cost. Loop Reins are standard 10’, for custom lengths please message. They include snaps or quick change (eye loop and pop through knot). Add simple slobber straps for extra cost. Split Reins are standard 8’ length, please message for custom lengths. They include leather poppers and mohair tassel or quick change (eye loop and pop through knot). Add simple slobber straps for extra cost. ORDERING DETAILS: Please indicate colour preference.
