An effective Spey cast is dependent on efficient transfers of energy in each of its three key components: the Lift, Load, and Delivery. Utilizing our proprietary Revolution 8 graphite technology along the full length of double-handed rod tapers results in a blank with an unmatched ability to capture and carry power, plus exceptional tracking. Energy produced during the cast and applied directly to the rod are transmitted entirely into the line, so Spey casters aren’t required to compensate for lost energy or imprecise rod reactions. With SPEY R8, casts are smooth, instinctual, and consistent.
Lift - Adequate stiffness, power, and responsiveness paired with light weight ensure no efforts are wasted and fatigue is minimum when lifting long or heavy heads, sink tips and flies.
Load - R8 Technology maximizes the amount of energy collected in sweep or touch-and-go moves, carries it into the D-Loop, and transfers it smoothly into the rod.
Deliver - Responsiveness and tracking abilities of R8 Technology diminish lost energy and reduce lateral movements upon the forward stroke, increasing power and accuracy.
FINE-TUNED ACTIONS
In designing our new SPEY R8 rods, we recognized there isn’t a single rod action appropriate for the wide variety of Spey fishing applications found around the globe. We identified four distinct Spey rod applications, each with its own unique set of requirements. This new approach matches rod action to application, ensuring anglers have the most fine-tuned Spey rod for their fishing. Across the family, our Revolution 8 Technology ensures a remarkably smooth and intuitive feel, no matter the line configuration.
CLASSIC AESTHETICS
Sage’s history designing and building Spey rods dates back to the late-1980’s - nearly the beginning of the company itself - when America’s Spey Revolution was just beginning. While the SPEY R8 family’s performance is a culmination of our most-advanced material technology, blank designs, and rod weight-length configurations to date, we’ve chosen the aesthetics as a nod to our deep Spey rod history, the pioneers of this niche within fly fishing, and of course, the anadromous fish themselves. Every detail is a thoughtful mix of functional intention and traditional looks. The overall look feels fresh yet familiar, is distinctively Sage, and inspires you to pick up the rods and fish them.
Blank Color - Rich and warm, Ale colored blanks paired with black and gold trim wraps signify the meeting of history, culture, and innovation.
Wood Reel Seat - A traditional deep walnut insert paired with Granite machined aluminum componentry follows a classic theme and is complementary to the Ale blank color.
Cork Handles - Excels in the majority of Spey fishing situations and are best suited to handling a mix of line types and casting styles.
Our new SPEY Reels are the result of 40 years of designing, fishing, and tinkering combined with our enduring passions of Spey fishing for anadromous species. During that period, we’ve watched - and in many cases driven - innovation in the Spey world in real-time: material advancements, rod and line development, evolutions in fishing and casting techniques, and the discovery of new swung fly fisheries. As a result of all those years of experience and collective understanding, we’ve determined the very specific demands that modern Spey anglers place on their reels. We’ve taken this information and applied it to the new SPEY Reels .
Internally, SPEY Reels utilize a redesigned, sealed, carbon fibre disc and dual-clicker drag system that ensures dependability, eliminates unwarranted spool rotation, and offers exceptional resonance. Mass and balance were given equally-high attention in our design process as we updated model sizing to better align with matching Spey rods and we adjusted the location of the reel foot to provide uniform axial balance with the rod. A full-frame design eliminates the possibility of shooting lines slipping between spool and frame while the addition of a machined radius around the reel foot for comfortable wrapping of leader, tip, or tippet. Completing the package is a classic and elegant aesthetic of porting and laser engraving that Spey anglers can acknowledge and appreciate.
DRAG SYSTEM - Newly Formulated O-Ring Seals / Custom Dual Clicker
SPEY Reels are built on the foundation of our longstanding Sealed Carbon System (SCS) Drag and improved upon with two key evolutions: newly formulated O-ring seals, and custom dual-clickers. The drag systems are sealed by our new and proprietary O-rings, which are designed to withstand greater amounts of compression. This ensures a stronger seal while at the same time resisting wear and fatigue. We also redesigned the clicker system, adding a second clicker. In addition to increased amplification and improved durability, the dual-clicker design also limits free spool rotation, so fishing distance isn’t inadvertently decreased while fishing. The SPEY Reels’ One-Revolution Drag Knob has twenty numbered drag settings with half-detents, allowing for precise, consistent, and replicable drag settings that can be returned to over and over again.
FRAME SYSTEM - Fine-Tuned Balance / Consistent Line Management
The frame and spool designs of the SPEY Reels focus on the Spey system’s balance as a whole and also the unique lines and riggings used in two-handed casting and fishing. The location and amount of the reels’ portings (or lack thereof) are strategic, resulting in an overall weight that is appropriate for longer Spey rods. Additionally, we adjusted the location of the reel foot from an exact-centre position to better align with the centre of mass of the reels themselves. In the machining of the reel foot, we included radiused edges; this prevents any kinking, memory, or compromising of the Spey leader, tip, or tippet. Retrieval direction is also changed easily with a flip of the clutch bearing. Lastly, our spool design features full-frame line guards to eliminate any chances of shooting line migration, a wide palming rim to allow for additional control while fighting fish, and also capacity dimensions to match larger-diameter Spey lines.
In the fluid environment that we ply our craft, the demands are ever changing. Few days truly hit the mark to be deemed perfect although it can be argued that any day spent by water is perfect enough. When we fish, the demands we place on little more than a couple of ounces of carbon fibre are considerable, we expect featherlight touch and feel in close, backbone enough to drive a long, fast and accurate loop but with the durability to fight and land that fish of the day, season or even a lifetime. The new Hardy Marksman has been designed, developed and tested with this incredibly varied challenge in mind. A strong, yet considerably lighter blank has been matched with an all new reel seat that further accentuates the weight reduction and promotes an almost weightless in hand feel. Fitted with titanium guides and dressed in a subtle non-flash golden olive, its understated looks hide a capability that needs to be experienced. Designed and developed in Alnwick England during Hardy's 150th year our new flagship rod The Marksman truly hits the mark to be deemed perfect.
Nymphmaniac rods have been designed together with some of the best competition anglers in Europe including Jarkko Suominen, Cato Monsen, Jan Kubala and David Ferreras. Nymphmaniac meets the requirements of the most demanding anglers within a reasonable price range, These have been designed to be as light and as easy to handle as possible. The blank dampens immediately after stopping when casting which is extremely important for sustaining proper contact and a feel for light nymphs. The perfect nymph fishing setup is completed with the Vision Ultra Light Nymph-line
Vision Onki fly rods are a range of carefully created medium-fast rod models to cover most of the situations anglers face when fishing for normal freshwater species on creeks, rivers and on various stillwater destinations. The quality of high-modulus Korean graphite (40 tn) is something you normally find only in more expensive rods and it enabled us to create a very light and sensitive rod. The rest of the components are also of great quality. The handles have a narrow rubber/cork reinforcements to make them more durable. With these rods, your money is truly well spent.
Hardy set new standards in 2008 with the introduction of the first high-end cassette reel system seen on the market. This year, see that bar raised yet again with the all new Ultradisc cassette reel. The all-new frame design allows significant weight saving and incorporates a built-in line guard design that effortlessly controls thin running lines. A full disc drag system provides ample stopping power with fine adjustment, and the large arbour poly-carbonate spools result in rapid line recovery. Finally, the re-introduction of the much loved CLS locking system offers simple, fast, and reliable spool change time and time again.

The REN Blanks have been made from a unique graphite blend with incredible tensile strength. This makes it possible to equip the rods with a very light, fine tip that combines a high level of precision with extreme sensitivity. The non-progressive medium to deep action in the main part of the blank provides a balanced casting feel. The result: absolutely continuous control when casting. The blank works from the tip guide down to the handle, making fatigue-free casting with minimal effort not only possible, but a breeze. The powerful recovery of the special carbon nevertheless allows very long and precise casts. The REN series includes probably the lightest two-handed rods on the market.
The thin blank presents itself in a traditional dark brown finish. The chic blank is built up with ultra-light, but robust snake guides and stable stripping guides made of titanium. The cork handle is from Delgado cork quality. The black anodized aluminum reel seat completes the traditional Scandinavian overall look of the rod.
NAM provides a free 2-year warranty on defective parts from the date of purchase. After these two years, defective parts will be replaced for a flat rate of £80 per section (or £110 per Butt section) for single handed rods. This service is guaranteed until at least 5 years after the end of the respective rod series.
Delgado Cork:
Strictly translated the word “Delgado” means thin or slender. These thin barked trees are not as common as the thick bark trees making it very rare and highly sought after. Since the cork bark is naturally thinner and denser it has many advantages over the thicker cork bark.
Advantages with Delgado:
It’s also green with Delgado Cork:
It regenerates every 9 years, so it is completely renewable. Not only is it renewable, but harvesting the cork bark is actually beneficial to the tree itself in terms of lifespan because if left unharvested the cork bark can grow too thick and choke the tree resulting in premature death. Harvesting the cork don’t just allow the tree to live longer, stripping the bark also increases the amount of CO2 it can absorb from the air. So, it’s truly a win-win for the environment. The glue that is used has no solvents or harsh chemicals in it and is also 100% Eco-Friendly.
Exclusive high density leader material that obtains its extraordinary performance from a 3-layer structure. Outer layer is a Fluorocarbon skin that provides the abrasion resistance and prevents UV rays from crossing the line and causing it to quickly age. The mid-layer is responsible for ensuring a super soft, low memory and high knot strength leader. The core is made of nano-technological nylon, which gives an extraordinary strength to the line.
The material comes on a very practical large arbor spool. Always easy to pick new material and take little room in your pockets and bags.

NT11 fly rods are the result of taking advantage of the very latest and most sophisticated SOA (State of Art) graphite materials used in the aerospace industry today.
When applied to and used in flyrods, some remarkable benefits are achieved. The most evident effect being an amazing recovery power and crispness in the blanks, created by combining the incredible armoring and strength increasing effects of T1100G graphite with layers of the highest modulus graphite we’ve ever used in any flyrods to date. For you as an angler, the above properties are built into a series of rods that have the lowest blank weight, yet the highest break strain of any other rod in our line up and probably also on the entire flyrod market.
You’ll find these rods to be easy to operate with their full flex medium/fast action and tips that are rigid but still sensitive enough to make them lively and fun to cast without having to focus on perfect casting stroke timing all the time. They load deeper and generate increasing amounts of power and line speed when you ask for it. While still maintaining impressive lifting power for sinking lines, this deeper, yet fast type of action will work for a wide range of casts, lines and casting styles. After many years of building premium, lightweight and strong 6-piece flyrods and knowing that no sacrifices are made in performance, strength, weight or balance, we find it only natural that this new range of rods also is multi-piece and transportable in your luggage when travelling. We have worked hard and deliberately to keep the value of these rods maximized without sacrificing quality in workmanship or components.
NT11 rods use an ultra-elastic 46T Low Resin Material which makes it possible to create feather-light blanks with a crisp feeling that greatly improves sensitivity. Layers of T1100 graphite with extremely high tensile- and compression strength are then added both on the inside and outside of the 46T material, creating an incredibly strong wall and foundation for unmatched performance, durability and reliability in the blanks. Together with this, we use a carbon-scrim material with a proprietary CAP (Complex Axial Pattern) with 0, 45, 90 and -45 degrees, Cross Construction structure. This produces a lightning-fast recovery speed, increases the casting distance and improves the compression strength. High-strength TORAYCA NANOALLOY®-resin reinforced graphite improves the toughness and increases durability in the rods.
Casting and fish-fighting cause countless amounts of flexing and unloading of the blank, the Nano-material prevents damage due to external shocks, internal stresses or fatigue. The material properties implemented into our NT11 blanks can be described with these simple words; EXTREME DURABILITY, LOW WEIGHT and UNMATCHED RECOVERY SPEED. Making a strong blank while making it extremely light is the ultimate goal of fishing rod development. But in a standard manufacturing process, a rod runs the risk of breaking too easily if it is light and with thin walls. It also often becomes too heavy if it is built to be strong enough. The properties and the performance in our NT11 rods are difficult to imitate by ordinary manufacturers as we use the best available materials together with the best available manufacturing- and reinforcement-technologies to achieve an ideal structure in the blanks.
This small kit consists of the perfect size trebles and single hooks for our SÖLV lures, as well as beads in different colours. All hooks are equipped with a split ring and solid ring and are ready to be tied to your leader. The kit comes in a small tacklebox which easily fits into your pocket!
