This is the Spyderco FB23PYL Aquas Salt yellow handled knife designed for and used by marine hunters and water sports based activities.Even if you are not needing the knife for these activities it is still an exceptionally good knife that can perform a huge array of tasks with relative ease.For years the knife industry did all they can to make steel that would work well in water based activities without rusting. Thankfully Spyderco managed to achieve this when they created their H1 grade stainless steel that is Nitrogen based as opposed to Carbon based.This meant that the steel would not react with Chlorine in the same way that carbon does, and so a steel was born that was strong, resilient and was able to finally handle the issues of rust.This Fiberglass reinforced Yellow Nylon handle makes it easy to spot the knife during use while at the same time sporting good looks, and offering good comfort levels.The knife measures 9.25 inches overall and has a plain edged blade that is razor sharp and able to withstand repeated hard work. A weight reducing swedge on the spine helps with the balance and the ability to use it all day long. A true professionals choice of knife.The blade is about 4.75 inches with a cutting edge of 4.25 inches.At 4.2oz it is neither too heavy nor too light. Just about perfect.The lanyard hole allows for easy storage when not in use – comes with a protective sheath.
