Through serious testing among Shimano Pro staff members in the Northeast, the Shimano Teramar XX NE Spinning Rods were fine-tuned from top to bottom to accommodate the unique and specific techniques for targeting our inshore fish. Targeting fish such as stripers, albies, fluke, tautog, black seabass and others were put into consideration when designing the handle shape & guide train while Shimano utilized both their Spiral X and High Power X technologies for added performance. Both these technologies provide for a light, powerful, and sensitive blank, something all anglers certainly want. Spiral-X is a carbon tape tightly wrapped at an angle from the butt of the rod to the tip, which is done in two layers in opposite directions. This provides for torsional rigidity under load without adding weight to the blank itself. Hi-Power X is the rod's outmost layer
