The Paraguayan team has the same number of points as Athletico and, like Paranaens, need only a draw in the final game to advance to the tournament.
For the final round of the Libertadores group stage, Libertad will take on The Strongest, at the Defensores Del Chaco Stadium in Asunción. Athletico-PR will take on Caracas, at the Arena da Baixada, Curitiba. Both matches will take place on May 26th.
LIBERTAD STARTS BETTER, BUT WITHOUT FEAR
Even away, Libertad started the match well, putting pressure on the Athletico-PR defense. However, despite showing quality, the Paraguayan team did not pose a serious threat to goalkeeper Bento, from Hurricane.
ATHLETICO-PR WITH MORE FOOTBALL, LIBERTAD DEFENDS
Libertad’s pressure was short-lived. As the minutes went by, Athletico-PR took the place of the match. However, despite the quality of the ball possession, the Hurricane was unable to break through the Paraguay team’s defensive line.
THE STORM CONTINUES HIGH, BUT DOES NOT ACHIEVE THE GOAL.
Hurricane continued to excel in the game until the end of the first half, but it took a bit of a risk for goalkeeper Martín Silva. The most dangerous positions created by the Athletico-PR team were in two Cuello presentations, but all came out.
ATHLETICO-PR OPENS MARKS
The extra action started with a lot of hesitation and without all the teams making dangerous moves. Just a shot from outside the area or individual game to change the perspective of the match. And so it happened for 10 minutes.
Cuello took the ball from the right side and hit it straight to the goal (or hit a cross?). The ball overshadowed Libertad goalkeeper Martín Silva and went inside. The best goal for Athletico-PR to open the scoring at Arena da Baixada: 1 to 0.
THE MOUNTAIN INCREASES
The goal infected Athletico-PR fans and players, with the Libertad team giving clear indication that they felt the blow. The hurricane took advantage of the Paraguay team’s instability and expansion. At the age of 23, in a counter-attack, Terans got a good pass from Canobbio, who beat goalkeeper Martín Silva outside: 2-0.
MUCH PUSH-PUSH, LITTLE BALL AND VICTORY VICTORY
Athletico-PR’s second goal ended the match. From then on, players were looking for more trouble than playing. In both cases, the referee had to stop the game to distribute the card and control the anger.
Football until the end of the game, when the Paraguayan team tried, on a smother basis, to reduce damage, but goalkeeper Bento was able to save well and ensure the Hurricane did not leak.
