Coritiba presented administrative representation in the CBF against arbitration errors in the common Atletiba. The document was presented on Monday to the Arbitrator, with a copy of former São Paulo arbitrator Wilson Seleme, chairman of the Arbitration Commission.

According to an article on the club’s official website, the document, signed by President Juarez Moraes e Silva. he describes Coritiba’s opposition and disagreement with the playing of the field referee, Luiz Flávio de Oliveira, and the video referee, Daiane Caroline Muniz dos Santos, for the mistakes made in the regular game.

The document highlights a goalless draw in the 56th minute against Léo Gamalho, Alviverde’s top scorer when he was fouled by defender Pedro Henrique, minutes after VAR called Luiz Flávio de Oliveira to check for a possible penalty for A. Paranaense. , who ended up being marked and replaced. In the request by forward alviverde, with the referee and VAR ignoring the violation, Luiz Flávio de Oliveira blew the whistle at the end of the match without waiting for the tender to be reviewed.

In the document, Coritiba also calls for the release of voices containing refereeing during the match, warnings for referees, the non-selection of these Coritiba matches in Brasileirão and for submission for re-evaluation. .

Mediation in Brazil is an issue that needs to be addressed urgently. Although there are rules in football, each referee interprets them in his own way. The punishment given to A. Paranaense is an example of this. In a match between São Paulo x Palmeiras, held this Monday, goalkeeper Jandrei, from São Paulo, played the same request as Coritiba goalkeeper Rafael William, however, unlike Mr. Luiz Flávio de Oliveira, the team’s referee. Paulista classic, Anderson Daronco, no goals.

But it was not just the penalty awarded to A. Paranaense that sparked the Coritiba protest, but especially the unconfirmed penalty that could have been awarded to Coritiba shortly after Atlético’s goal. In that effort it is clear that the opponent’s defender, Pedro Henrique, rises with his head and puts the ball in his hand on Léo Gamalho’s face and leans against striker Coxa-Branca, which is a clear error. However, despite ignoring the bid, the referee ended the game shortly thereafter, without giving time to look at the VAR. At least, a suspicious view, not only from the judge, but also from the video judge.

Unfortunately, we know that the CBF will do nothing about the judges’ mistakes in the usual style, even if Coritiba justifies their protest. But the club alviverde is right in officially expressing his dissatisfaction.

It is strange that a game that stirs billions of people, many direct and indirect occupations, which stimulate the enthusiasm of millions of Brazilians, still has to live with the arbitration of inexperienced people, which casts doubt on football. Even the adoption of the VAR did not end the bad referees in Brazilian football.
The only way to improve is the profession of judges. Until that happens, we will continue to suffer from the mistakes and prejudices of judges such as Wilton Pereira Sampaio, Sávio Pereira Sampaio, Luiz Flávio de Oliveira and many others who have already harmed Coritiba.
