UFC: Josh Emmett defeats Calvin Kattar in a card full of big fights | to fight

The bizarre event, full of fierce battles and nine matches ended before the final bell, ended with a heavy featherweight bout this Saturday in Austin (USA). In a bout between the Americans, Josh Emmett defeated Calvin Kattar by a split decision (48-47, 47-48, 48-47) in the UFC Kattar main event against Emmett. It was his fifth consecutive victory.

– Dana, give me my head-shot. I think I deserve it, I beat Kattar and looked at the people she faced and beat them. This division needs new blood – asked Emmett after the fight.

The pair of fur weights had a well-rounded and tense first round. Kattar cut Emmett’s left eye with a straight right eye, but it was Emmett who suffered the most blows, always endangering it with his right hand. Kattar began to control more distance with a jab in the second round and opened the cut in the opponent’s forehead again. Emmett tried to respond with a late blitz in the round, but found a knee that caused him to bend his knees.

Emmett was reunited with bombs early in the third round, but Kattar grew bigger in that cycle. He landed jabs, uppercuts and elbows. Emmett responded again with a good end of the episode, with a sharp hook for the body, a high left way and a right hook. The fourth cycle was the most intense. Kattar connected the rotating elbow and was followed by a straight line that made Emmett sambar. But that did not stop Emmett from coming out at the last minute.

With his left eye closed due to the swelling, Emmett entered the final round throwing the hooks and seeking removal. But Kattar hit him with good jabs and took risks with elbows. He also landed a good way up. Emmett also left the opponent’s left eye very swollen from a pile of blows. The two exchanged blows explicitly in the final seconds, but without much precision.

Other main card attractions

Kazir’s Damir Ismagulov and Georgian Guram Kutateladze starred in a very technical match with many strong hits from both sides. Ismagulov was finally declared the winner by a split decision and took his winning streak to 19 consecutive fights. He promised to reach that light weight belt.

– UFC, I want a big fight! 15 bora! In this forest, there is a new king! Kazakh will handle it, “Ismagulov said in a post-war interview.

American Joaquin Buckley and Russian Albert Duraev also starred in a major middleweight bout. They both landed high-powered kicks and opened fire on each other’s faces. But Buckley’s fists were connected more accurately and stronger. Direct right knocked the Russian down and closed Duraev’s left swollen eye. The Russian showed courage and, even with another left hook, survived to the end of the second round. The doctor, however, assessed that Duraev could not continue – he could not see with his left eye – and ended the fight, leading to Buckley’s victory in the technical knockout.

Kevin Holland and Tim Means also performed at welterweight. Two Americans exchanged blows openly during the courtship. The Dutch direct was more accurate and powerful. In the second round, Means lost consciousness after one of his opponents straightened up and ended up being held in a hand triangle. He hit a quick stop.
