Formula 1 returned to Canada for the first time since 2019 Sunday, with Max Verstappen securing his sixth victory in nine Form 1 races this season as he withdrew pressure from Carlos Sainz to cross the finish line first. Taking advantage of a start from Sergio Pérez and Charles Leclerc at the back of the pitch – and the retirement of the Mexican – Lewis Hamilton completed the stage with Mercedes.
Seven-time world champion George Russell went on to record the finish line in the top-5 and fourth place, with Leclerc running the recovery and finishing fifth, just ahead of Esteban Ocon.
Given a 5-second penalty awarded to Fernando Alonso, the Alfa Romeo duo – created by Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou – secured the next two chances. The two-time Renault world champion appears to be below the Chinese, with Lance Stroll scoring the top 10 with Aston Martin.

<p><strong>Nicholas Latifi, 16</strong>: “The overall experience this weekend has been very special. It was great to finally be able to run home, and the support I received from my family, friends and all the fans at the stadiums was great. In terms of song, we were really lacking in speed and we need to try to understand why this is a high and low fat. We now have two weeks to try to do the analysis before heading to Silverstone.
